Dr. Eggers earned his medical and doctoral degrees from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Missouri–Kansas City. He went on to complete subspecialty fellowship training in adult reconstruction at the Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Eggers has advanced fellowship training in total joint revision surgery, addressing joint replacements that have failed, worn out, or become infected. He also specializes in the prevention of total joint arthroplasty infections. He has authored numerous publications and serves as a peer reviewer for respected medical journals, including the Journal of Arthroplasty and the Journal of Knee Surgery.
